WELCOME TO INDIAN SUPPORT CENTER (ISC)
Indian Support Center (ISC) is a non-profit, non-government organisation started in March 2015 as an independent body to help resolve community issues among the Indian sub-continent (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka) community residing in Australia.
With an abundance of new migrants arriving in Australia, the need for an institution that provides support and guidance to the migrants making Australia their new home is paramount. The Indian Support Center uses one-on-one and community development approach to support migrant residents by assisting them on their journey towards adapting to the Australian society, culture, economy and environment. PRESIDENT’S WELCOME NOTE
Hello Community Members,
The Indian Support Center Inc. (ISC) is proud in achieving 5 years of Indian sub-continent migrant community support since inception in March 2015. We focus on providing the much needed support in Harm Prevention Services including mediation, legal and other required services, Domestic Violence Support, Job Seeker Support, Digital Literacy for Seniors, Digital Health Awareness, Emergency and other forms of support. The ISC Helpdesk system is testimony to the work done by our team of selfless volunteers assisting with 1700+ requests from the community thus far.
ISC have recently launched its NEWSLETTER which aims to regularly provide useful community information, our current & future plans, and programs.
I wish to express our gratitude and thanks to our fund/grant providers – NSW Government (Initial seed capital), Good Things foundation, Multicultural NSW, Department of Social Services, Sponsors, Donors and the Cumberland council for leasing us our office facility.
Finally, I convey my special thanks to all our selfless Volunteers and my fellow Board and life Members who made ISC as the NERVE CENTRE of the Indian Sub-continent Community.
